  • Hi Randy--so much to read through here.  It's so much-but all very exciting.

I'm just reading your dream analysis!  Amazing.

  • Thanks Randy. I accept the friend requests of anyone I know, even through one message or email. Especially on this site, I was not able to send someone more than 200 characters' worth of message without being their friend.

I'm really glad you enjoy Personality Type: An Owner's Manual. I found it in a Borders book store many years ago, and it was my first Jungian book: my gateway book, so to say. But then that chain went out of business and since then I've always checked for it when I go to new book stores, but they never seem to have it. It's scary, living in the end times!

Thank you for your interest and encouragement. I will take it to heart.

  • Not so much a Jung Club as a Friends of Jung Association...

I'm not aware there are any Friends of Freud Associations.

JACO has a 3 story house (JungHaus) with library, art gallery, bookstore, therapist offices.

  • Hi Randy,

Thanks for your note about Shared Realities. I hope you enjoy it. It sounds like you're laying a good foundation with the Collected Works. Drop me another line with comments about the book after you've finished. Be forewarned, a few of the chapters are rather dense theoretically and even experienced analysts have struggled with them.

    Best Wishes,

    Mark

  • Fantastic! Love hearing this.

  • You're welcome! Jung Platform events that I've tried have been great and we of course co-host a lot of lectures and other events.

Can't believe you live in Victor! Was a fantasy of mine in school in Colorado Springs in the 80s to live in Cripple Creek some time. And...a good friend of mine's father was born in Victor back around 1935. What brought you there, I'm very curious to know?

    Take care!

    Mark

  • Greetings Randy and welcome to the online depth psychology community. It's great you've found us!

As you may know, we currently have over 3300 members from all over the world. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

We recommend that to get started, you personalize your profile photo by going to your "My page" and rolling your cursor over the default C.G. Jung image. This gives you the option to switch it to a person picture. As well, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to another member's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like. There are many of us, including myself, who share your interests; I am also very interested in dreams and am curious to see what you might post here on this topic.

Here are a few quick links to front page items that may be of interest to you. The Multimedia Library contains talks, videos and articles that may be of interest to you. The Depth Insights e-zine has articles, poetry, and images from past issues. And, then we have the Events page which contains calls for papers, upcoming conferences, and workshops.

You can also weigh in on the weekly depth discussions by clicking the image and quote at the top of the home page. And here's a link to help you navigate the site for your convenience.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you around the community.

    Warm Regards,

Analysis: Three Dreams and a Song

In the world of dreams, one’s friends live forever, for they can be present at any time. In this way, I have expected the eventual visits of my close friend, who passed away this fall, in my dreams and in the recollections of him that occur to me.

With the alchemical signature of wholeness [1] of three and one, I present three dreams and a song from my content, culminating in a rejuvenation dream at the beginning of the year. In hopes of processing grief in a healthy way, I…

Analysis of a Dream Series

‘The Impossible Mountain Climb’ Dream: My wife and I were to climb or walk up this very steep mountain, using ropes which were provided. We had trouble, so we left and were to try another time.

We arrived back at the hotel/resort type place and parked, walking to the building that was on the edge of a deep ravine.…

The Plenaro Dream

‘The difference between the "natural" individuation process, which runs its course unconsciously, and the one that is consciously realized is tremendous. In the first case,  consciousness nowhere intervenes; the end remains as dark as the beginning. In the second case, so much darkness comes to light that the personality is permeated with light and consciousness necessarily gains in scope and insight. The encounter between…

The Center of Being

In my first blog, I related the events surrounding a transformative dream I had which evoked a powerful feeling tone, its effect rippling out through my life. A series of events the previous day, coupled with reading an S.T. Coleridge poem upon cracking open the first Jung volume I had yet to read, seemingly led to my experience of this dream, replete with a mysterious archetypal projection.

I amplified the image, researched the content to the extent that I was able, but only…

A Dream and a Case Of Cryptomnesia

Cryptomnesia occurs when a forgotten memory returns without it being recognized as such by the subject, who believes it is something new and original. It is a memory bias whereby a person may falsely recall generating a thought, an idea, a song, or a joke, not deliberately engaging in plagiarism but rather experiencing a memory as if it were a new inspiration.” -Wikipedia

The word was first used by…
