"What a lovely interview, Bonnie. I was very interested to learn about this important conference that I'd known nothing about, but I was also reminded of the simple steps that we can all take to reconnect to the natural world. Jeff's comment that we…"

Dorene Mahoney replied to Christopher Chayban's discussion Symbols and Intuition in Using Jung's Typology Discussion Group
"No. Extraverted intuition is about real world possibilities.
Relative to your 2nd question, it could be that you've got both introverted intuition and extraverted intuition operating in parallel ways. However, the statement, "that person is like a…"

Dorene Mahoney replied to Christopher Chayban's discussion Distortion of Type in Using Jung's Typology Discussion Group
"Shyrl and I have talked about your questions.

First of all, to the extent one's Whole Type Code is distorted through various life experiences, it makes it hard to see their Code accurately.

Individuation is always aiming at increased authenticity.…"

Jung's writing is pretty dense. I've added some of my words around subject and object, active and passive, hoping it makes the passages a little easier to understand:

  • Well, Dorene, my favorite Rilke quote is: I want to be with those who know secret things, or else alone.

See how beautifully this works out? And I'm so tired of being alone (my favorite Al Greene words. And thanks for your sweet words. It's interesting that the only two groups I've joined thus far are yours. We must like the same stuff!

Oh WOW! I just scrolled up to see your collage work! I recall seeing them before, but can you believe that just today I got my handmade in India watercolor journal for my Pacifica program that starts Thursday and decided at once that since I do not draw or paint, at all, I would use it to collage my dreams, and whatever else we are being asked to use our Artist Journal for. You've really inspired me. Can't wait to start collaging!

  • Hi Dorene! I don't really know if you can call it dream work at all. I've been trying lately to read my dreams in the way achetypal astrology reads birth charts. So if for a number of years I've been having these dreams of magnificent and terryfying thunderstorms I've tried to link them to some or other archetypal principle (to be completely honest, I'm still in two minds about whether my dream storms are plutonic, uranic or both though). So it's as simple as that.
I have to say I'd never heard about DreamTending before I read one of your comments here. Sounds really worth looking into.
  • Hi Dorene, Thanks for the welcome and invitation to join some groups. I will soon. Best wishes, Rachel
  • Hi Dorene,

Thank you for the welcome, glad to be here, I will definitly join in soon when I have found my way round.

  • Hi Dorene,

Thanks so much for all these thoughtful comments! I'm having a frantically busy week and can't give them the response they deserve, but I'm glad to see them on my wall here. Hope all is well on your end--

  • Great! Looking forward to it! Ruth
  • Hi Dorene, there are Starbucks in various locations and there's a Peet's on 4th st. in Sta Rosa. There's Starbucks in the Costco shopping cntr on other side (from Costco) near ATT-that might be faster for you, taking SR Ave exit (go in where it says Trader Joes (it's back past ATT. ) There's also Aroma Roaster's in Railroad Square. I've met clients there b/c even when it's packed the high ceiling keeps the noise down. You can talk and hear one another easily. So those are some choices. I'm having a bit of a hard time getting up really early, but 10am would be fine!  Any other ideas?  Oh, and there's also a Starbucks inside the SR Plaza ground floor. Off the top of my head, that's it...Ruth
  • Hi Dorene,Days to meet: Thurs works for me; or Fri 18th which is full-moon; pretty much any of those days. Where would you like to meet?  I love your collages!  Looking forward to cutting/pasting soon!!

  • You article is a great contibution, Dorene. I am looking forward to following a little more closely now.
  • Hi Dorene, that's a great idea, I'd love to meet for coffee. I've been out of touch again, some health issues that are on the mend now.  Let's look at schedules...

    Best to you,
